QK65 Build
Qwertykeys’ QK65
The QK65 is a 65% custom mechanical keyboard designed by Qwertykeys. The board has an aluminum construction with a gasket mounting style. My configuration of this keyboard has the gunmetal top combined with a navy blue bottom plate. My build configuration uses a FR4 plate, the harder gaskets, and all the dampening silicon and foam. In addition, all the screws are loosely tightened with the top screws slightly tighter. The force break mod is also applied around the screw holes to reduce any case ping.
Switches
The switches used in this build are linear frankenswitches. These switches are built with Gateron Black Ink V2 bottom housings, ink stems, with Gateron Milky Yellow top housings and springs. The switches are lubed with 205g0 lubricant. The total travel distance of these switches are 4.0mm. The actuation force of these switches are 56 grams with a bottom-out force of 62 grams.
Keycaps
The keyboard’s keycaps are PBT white on block (WoB). This is a cherry profile keycap set with double-shot legending. The PBT material is much more resistant to shining from use than ABS. The double-shot legending ensures that the lettering will not fade or wear off over time due to constant use.
